P.D.S. Storm Tours was founded by Gene & Barbara Robertson and Dennis Jones, all of whom are St. Louis Missouri natives. We are fully trained weather spotters for the National Weather Service and go through re-training every 2 years.
P.D.S. Storm Tours stands for Pursuing Dryline Supercells, to which we cover Tornado Alley during the spring storm season and during other times of the year when conditions are conducive to severe storm development. As with any type of storm chasing, P.D.S. Storm Tours guarantees that you will see a storm capabile of producing a tornado. Tornadoes only happen in about 10% of all severe storms; however, you will see awesome storm structure, hail and lightning. With utilization of our chase forecasters, we place our tours in the right areas to allow our guests the very best views.
Our team utilizes the latest in Doppler radar programs to decipher storm structure and pick the best storm to chase. Our seasoned chase forecasters also use Storm Prediction Center and National Weather Service forecasting models to allow our tours to be ahead of the storms and in good position to witness and document severe weather and tornadoes when they happen.
